European Tour

This is just a quick note for those who follow my blog.

I have had a busy start to 2011 and have had several shoots, all of which have been great fun! I'm afraid I have no new photos to share at the moment, because I haven't received them back yet, but I will be sure to keep this blog up to date as and when I receive new images.

Meanwhile, in my other life as a singer, there have also been exciting developments (ironic really, as I had resigned myself to taking some time off show-business to focus on my modelling). I have been offered a lead role, touring Europe, and I leave to fly to Germany in the morning! This is a fantastic opportunity, too good for me to pass up. The first leg of the tour lasts until the end of March, and I'm not entirely sure of my schedule after that. I don't plan on giving up modelling, not by any means! But I will obviously be unavailable in the UK for at least a couple of months, and will update as soon as I know more about my plans after that.

I will mostly be touring Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy (other countries are also a possibility, but unconfirmed as yet). I would love to fit in some modelling whilst I am on tour, so if you happen to be a photographer in any of the countries mentioned reading this, please get in touch and I will let you know my tour schedule.

Many thanks for the support of those who read this and keep in touch. Apologies to those who had made enquiries over the next couple of months. Welcome to my world! I will keep in touch, and hope that we can arrange something later in the year.

Streets of London

While most people were sleeping off their Christmas pudding, on the 27th of December I was wandering the streets of London with KRT Photographic. Keith wanted to capture the sights of London between the hours of midnight and 4am, when there's no one around to clutter it up. Despite the fact I lived in London for years, I don't think I'd ever explored this late at night before, just enjoying the sights and sounds. It's a very different city in the wee small hours, and despite rather dismal weather (it was cold and rainy) I rather like these atmospheric shots, showing some well known landmarks as you may never have seen them before (deserted!)

Among twenty snowy mountains,
The only moving thing
Was the eye of the blackbird.

I was of three minds,
Like a tree
In which there are three blackbirds.

The blackbird whirled in the autumn winds.
It was a small part of the pantomime.

A man and a woman

I do not know which to prefer,
The beauty of inflections
Or the beauty of innuendoes,

Or just after.

Icicles filled the long window
With barbaric glass.
The shadow of the blackbird
Crossed it, to and fro.
The mood
Traced in the shadow
An indecipherable cause.

O thin men of Haddam,
Why do you imagine golden birds?
Do you not see how the blackbird
Walks around the feet
Of the women about you?

I know noble accents
And lucid, inescapable rhythms;
But I know, too,
That the blackbird is involved
In what I know.

When the blackbird flew out of sight,
It marked the edge
Of one of many circles.

At the sight of blackbirds
Flying in a green light,
Even the bawds of euphony
Would cry out sharply.

He rode over Connecticut
In a glass coach.
Once, a fear pierced him,
In that he mistook
The shadow of his equipage
For blackbirds.

The river is moving.
The blackbird must be flying.

It was evening all afternoon.
It was snowing
And it was going to snow.

In the cedar-limbs.

Blue, like the skies beyond,

merging into a
new mailbox.

Vacant space,
a mailbox stands alone
on barren land.

Darkest night,
a moonbeam reflects
from the mailbox.

A boat,
faring turbulent seas
to distant mailboxes.

A broken heart,
delivered to
an empty mailbox.

Flowers grow,
life springs from
an open mailbox.

But flowers die
and crumble from
a closed mailbox.

The road
is clearly visible
from a prison mailbox.

A river of dreams,
cascading from
a leaking mailbox.

Cobwebs creep,
demon swarming
over a peeling mailbox.

Sun sets behind
the silhouette
of a leaning mailbox.

Lightning strikes,
rain drips from
a broken mailbox.

A creature stirs,
a child is kicking
an old, old mailbox.

If you had lived...

They say that some things are just not meant to be,
But nevertheless, you were special to me.
'You' were my hopes, and my future plans,
I imagined my world in your tiny hands.

In my thoughts, I had held you,
Pictured who you might be,
And I felt that I knew you,
Though you never knew me.

For weeks, you provided my secret smile,
And I'm proud that I carried you 'round, for a while.
I'd like to believe you are safe, up above,
But if you had lived - you would have been loved.
